I stopped in Gamestop the other day for the first time in about a year and picked up a CIB copy of Xenoblade Chronicles for $50. I was hoping their PSP games were on clearance but that hasn't happened yet.

Apparently some games like that are classics. Gamestop knows and will not sell them for lower. They are also hard to find.

No, that's not the case at all. Basically Nintendo thought Xenoblade would be a flop in America so they didn't bother to release it. When their arms were twisted by the fans Nintendo was like "Ok, whatev", but still not knowing the games value. Gamestop damn well knew it's value and was able to strike a deal that meant they would be the only retailer in the country that could carry the thing. With no competition, they kept prices high.

You'll never see that game discounted.

Right, and I think Nintendo are idiots for that move. I shouldn't be surprised though, Nintendo has been making bad decisions in regards to North America for a long time now.
