Nda is lifted tomorrow, and the cardfs will be widely available, I bought 2 of them on Friday so yes they do exist.

They should be out tomorrow according to absolutely everything... hopefully they won't be at some ungodly $700 price point... $600 seems nice.

How does a single 512 GTX compare to a single 256? Trying to decide if it's worth an upgrade.

THanks,

Ah, seeing this is truly sickening. If you already have a regular GTX, cannot you be happy with it? It has nothing to with financial jealousy either. I just built my rig, and it handles anything I throw at it with ease. Why waste money on something so useless compared to what you already have?

So to answer your question, no it is definitely not worth the upgrade.

Well it should give a noticeable boost over a regular 7800GTX, not that there's anything wrong with the performance of le'original. Besides, this can only mean all the better for us who have been itching to go SLI with our current 7800GTX. A used 7800GTX of any make for $350~(praying) is a good thing in my book.

My 13 year old son is running a 9700 Pro and needs an upgrade bad. I told him that if I picked up the 512 7800 GTX that he could have my 256 7800 GTX. So it's not like I'm just buying it to buy it.

Also, F.E.A.R. puts a world of hurt on my 256 7800 GTX and a little more HP would really help.

Oh, that's a good thing. Sorry if I was a little rash. It's not uncommon to see people recklessly throw their money around here.

9700Pro... that being a needworthy upgrade? I'm running on a 6600GT, which isn't too much better than the 9700Pro. And you complain that FEAR is bad with a GTX...

I dunno dude. I've got a 9800XT and I find the 6600 GT to be a huge improvement... so a 9700Pro is definitely upgrade worthy.

And for those of us who have an evga step-up they don't want to waste... it'd be plain foolishness not to get a 512. Especially if I only have to throw an extra $40 or so at 'em.

I'll be upgrading. I haven't been particularly happy with my GTX at 1680x1050, its good, but not what I'd like. GTX is a fine card at 256, but I dont mind spending 300 bucks or so every 4 months for a new vid card.

Is this another one of those Nvidia countdowns? You know, the one where the clock reaches 0 and nothing happens? Where's the official launch and all that?
