So is this my writer....or nero?

Everytime I try to burn a CD in DiscAtOnce mode in Nero, the cd seems to write perfectly until it gets to the end.

Everytime it gets to the end i get a "Track Following" error? 😕

My re-installation of XP went dodgy last time and ive has a few other problems since I re-installed, and now this.

Does this sound like a Hardware problem or Software problem?

Thanks
Dan 🙂

Ummm.. check to see if Nero is not trying to burn faster than what the CD's and your hardware is rated for.
You might also want to look for a "Firmware" update and flash the CDRW drive.
You should also disable the Native Cd-rom Burning Services to Xp. Also Try
another brand of CD's and yes, the cheap blue ink cd's can give strang errors.
TDK cd media works great for me.

I'm not sure what you are trying to copy? Just burn what ever it is into an Image file
on the Harddrive first.

this rig..?
13.7gb Fujitsu 7200rpm

Monitor: 20" Iliyama

DVD Manufacturer & Model: Samsung Generic OEM 12x

CDR/CDRW Manufacturer & Model: LG 8080B 8x CD-r/CD-RW
I had one of those LGs...it got RMAed way back..the unit returned is afaik..still going..could be that..could also be...media related...those older burners..need to have most all other processes/tasks/apps shut..so there non-burnproof selves could be used..also speed(6x/4x/2x/1x ..🙁) might be a factor ..go over to HotDeals and grab a burner deal..or over to FS/FT forum..seem to recall a Fujitsu recall/lawsuit going on also..sorry..

I agree if that is his burner he should go out and get a new one.
Look for a burner with "BurnProof."

No no thats not it.

Its not creating a Buffer Under-run at all, just stops dead for some reason at the same point.

I havnt yet tried bruning at a lower speed.

The thing is an 8x writer, and ive also tried 2 different types of media.

Ill try diff speeds and make sure ive got all apps closed, strange thing though is I never had a problem with it until I last re-installed XP?!! 🙁 :|

Are you overclocking the system in any way?

Funnily enough ive just checked and yes its oc'd for some reason 😕

My Computer Properties reports the system as
AMD Athlon XP(tm) 1900+
1.59ghz

I have an Athlon XP 1800+, checked FSB in Bios and yea ive oc'd it. I must of been very drunk or half asleep when I did it.

Any chance that could be causing the problem? 😕

Dan 🙁
