So is there going to be a Phase 2 to OWS?

It's pretty clear they have the attention span of the American public now. You can't turn on the news these days without hearing something about the OWS protests.

It would be a terrible waste if this were not capitalized upon. It's time to start formulating a clear and consistent agenda across all OWS groups around the country and fielding candidates the way the Teabaggers did.

I think this movement has potential to become very big, but it needs organization. Stop making this about the protests and the police and start making it about the issues. Otherwise, this will all be for naught.

Unsure how this would work considering one of the key features of OWS is that there is no uniformly agreed upon set of issues they support; rather it's been almost exclusively about grievances (like wealth distribution and student loan debt). It's quite likely that if they did advocate for actual positions, many of them might prove unpopular.

OWS is going nowhere. The entire movement is nothing more than a group temper tantrum. They had a shot at actually accomplishing something, and I was rooting for them, but they failed to articulate any sort of intelligent agenda.

OWS is going somewhere. OWS is just getting started. They have a shot at an agenda. I'm rooting for them, they have accomplished so much already.

Naturally, this is just the beginning. The cause will not only grow but become much more focused. Just wait until phase II kicks in (or sort of a phase II of many phases). Phase II being when our government, bought and owned, enacts severe internet limits on freedom of speech. People don't understand that OWS is the cause for fighting against the killing off American rights. Internet censorship possibily the next cause worth fighting? I said it before and I say it again... eventually a cause, that hits home in your neighborhood, will motivate you to join in. Will that cause be in fighting against government control and censorship of the internet as we know it? Only you know the answer to that.

They have? The most they've done is bring the issue to the forefront. Now that they've done that, they're just getting in the way. So far they've had less of an impact than the Tea Party, and the Tea Party is relatively minor from a historical standpoint.

No doubt about it. Wait till the govt checks get cut off including pensions to those police officers who are throwing their weight around now.

You guys just don't get it yet but you will. America is going broke. Will not be able pay ANY of it's promises. All of societies productive assets are in hands of a few or off shore.

yes they have 🙂

an issue that no one wanted to talk about for close to 40 years now, the growing chasm between the rich and poor.
Now that they've done that, they're just getting in the way.
I agree, somewhat.

I don't care about the Tea Party, their humble beginnings weren't all that great, similar to the OWS.

Phase Two has already started. It is where they set fires to the buildings of companies that employ people other than them, smash windows of companies that employ people other than them, and attack the police for attempting to enforce laws they they feel people other than them should have to follow.

Oh, and it involves not bathing.

I support the tax-funded construction of nice baths with showers at every site. There ya go!

I would rather they go home and bathe, instead of creating additional rape sites for them to use. The tents were already too much of a temptation.

You think that's going to get better based on a group of youths that believe they shouldn't have pay back their government-funded education loans?

I get it... The solution to a government that is unable to fulfill it's obligations is for a bunch of riled up hipsters to refuse to fulfill theirs? What happens when the government has to pay out on all those defaults? That'll show those corporations, right?

Also, if just about any shot of OWS protests are any indication, the majority of hipsters present are just there to film the protest and post on Facebook. Out of a crowd of 500, there are usually 400 people holding up high-end cameras... None of which I could comfortably afford, but probably a requirement for a degree in film studies.

WE. ARE. THE 99%!

OWS needs to start taking policemen hostage, its only fair.

In that case phase 2 would be to have OWS declared domestic terrorists in which a very short and nasty end would come to #Occupy. No one with any sense at all wants to see the escalation of the already present violence.

I'm really not interested in hearing your Fox News vomit about OWS being about socialism, communism, rape, violence, etc. That's categorically false and you know it. Stop being intellectually dishonest.

OWS has the legitimate potential to go somewhere. But they need to get organized now and not let this opportunity go to waste.
