So is the rest of America boycotting Hispanic restaurants and beer/tequila imported from Latin America this May Fifth?

I don?t care how long you have been here, if you haven?t learned the language or anything about this country other than what you see on UniVision, then get registered, get legal or get going.

PS My father is a LEGAL immigrant who had to go through a waiting period, take all of the language and citizen classes, pass a test and swear and allegiance to this country. Just in time to get drafted too.

IMHO SoCal will soon become its own dual language state like Quebec.

I have spoken with some of my friends and we are going to start boycotting Mexican owned busisnesses and any other business we think hire illegals.....and not just May 5. We are going to do so until something tangible is done about this illegal alien sistuation. We realize it will hurt Hispanic Amecian citizens who are legal or born here but that is besides the point since the LEGAL Hispanics are the one that need to cry out to Congress to do something about the illegals before anything is going to get done. We also plan on talking to everyone we know and suggesting similar actions. I know the businesses that I have to deal with on a regular basis and there are always multiple choices. I will be switching all of my business over to non-Hispanic companies/businesses until this situation is remedied.

I'm not going to waste my time and money trying to make some sort of statement that the government will just ignore anyway. Look at how much time the war protestors wasted...clearly the current administration doesn't give two sh!ts about what the common folk think.

And sorry, but I'm not giving up mexican food even if I do believe that everyone should come here legally

Boycotting hispanic restaurants is just hurting the legals, man

I couldn't care less. I eat Mexican food once a week maybe, and rarely drink any Mexican alcohol. Regardless of that, you'd fooling nobody but yourself if you think this kind of action will solve anything.

Just make the illegal immigrants legal, simple as that. What do you have against them? How many of them have actually caused harm to America?

Let's eee, Reagan tried that in 86...we now have 12 million+ MORE...and have they done any damage? estimates are that 30 to 50 % of the prison inmates in Kahleeforeeya prisons are illegal immigrants...so, I'd say yes.

I guess we should ban being black or poor too, huh?

I'm a little torn on this immigration issue, typically I tend to side with anyone going through a struggle but on the other hand there's clearly an issue of breaking the law. I think in the long run though the current immigration laws need to be upheld. If the US just allowed any and all illegal immigrants to become citizens how long will it take before terrorists begin to exploit the mexican/us border? (if they're not doing it already) Although I can fully understand why so many would want to enter the country (even illegally) I think the law that's in place is a protection for the citizens of this nation. If we allow people to bypass this rule, might as well disregard them all.

However I won't support a boycott on mexican/latino owned businesses, I don't see the point in punishing people who are legally here.

That's not what he said at all. Illegal immigrants are already illegal. saahmed asserted that illegal immigrants haven't done anything wrong, but actually there are many illegals in prison, which wrongs us all.

There's no call for banning something that's already illegal.

True, but I think since we share a border with Mexico and that country is basically a sh!thole, the largest percentage of illegals are from there. The Atlantic and Pacific oceans tend to keep out the masses from other third world countries.

No poll....
But im not, Mexican Restaraunt doesn't necessarily mean "illegal" immigrants. But if I knew that they were all Illegal there then yes I would boycott them.

Our poly sci teacher wanted to make a point when we where in college so he took some of us to the local mexican restaurant. Two of is waited at the back door to the kitchen while he went inside to the kitchen and yelled INS!!!!! I ****** you not seven!!!! people came hauling as$ out the back of that place. He made his point. Nothing mexican for me!

Bah I'm going to my favorite mexican restaurant today anyways. Illegal or not some of the best damn food in town. Plus I can order in spanish if I want to 😛

Has it occurred to anyone that a lot of the prisons are getting full because any illegal immigrant, whether they committed other crimes or not (other than "crossing the border"), are sent to jail if they can't be deported immediately.

I don't think it's right to make a blanket statement that they've all caused harm to America just because they're in prison.

No I'm not. I'm going to happy hour after work and plan on drinking Corona's and Tequila all night.

And you are an idiot for making this thread with the assumption that all hispanics = illegal immigrants you fool.
