I'm doing a major over-haul of my laptop, which includes reinstalling Half-Life 2 (I bought it on DVD). So I download steam, insert the disk, steam starts installing half-life, everything looks good until the very end. The display showed about 20 MB remaining. Now Steam refuses to display anything. Normally I'd just end the task and be done with it, but Steam's also using all of my internet bandwidth to download something. Given that it did this momentarily in the install, I'm inclined to let it continue, but it's been going on for about 30 min now. Granted, I have slow internet (~60 KB/s download), so it could take awhile for a large patch. Just wish I knew what it was doing.

(the "games" window is not actually open in this shot. Steam took on it's appearance when I dragged it over. Damn Windows
