So is Mario Galaxy the most 4D game ever?

Is that how they conceived of it?

Mario 2D (NES)

Mario 3D (N64)

Mario 4D (Wii)

Any other cool "4D games"?

Best game with Physics as its premises? Portal.

And what do you mean laws of physics? The acceleration and deceleration that Mario experiences would squash him.

three dimensions = length/depth, width, height
four dimensions += time

Galaxy has nothing to do with time manipulation... I guess Timeshift and Timesplitters would be 4d? whatever, its a stupid term.

Defined? I'm pretty sure there were plenty of platformers before, unless you're referencing something specific about R&C I'm not catching.

The platformer where you roamed about on small planets.

that's about where the similarities end.

Agreed, although if we were talking specifically about the Wii platform, my vote is for Boom Blox with Elebits as the runner-up.

But that sentence emcompasses the whole game of SMG.

I can encompass many games with one sentence too:
"A game where you see through the eyes of a character and walk around shooting things."

That sentence is not nearly as descriptive or explanatory. Try again.

Every game can be summarized into one sentence. It's just interesting when the summaries for two games overlap.

Galaxies is an incredible example of 3D technology, camera angles, and vibrant colors. It's a very fun game imo. There really is nothing more to say.

I don't get the OPs question either. There is no "4-D" element to Super Mario Galaxy.

Is he trying to refer to the Gravitational effects ??

There is a time dilation effect. Every time I play Super Mario Galaxy, time jumps forward 5-6 hours.

Well now i'm confused as well. Do the Wiimotes take D size batteries? Maybe he's referring to the need to use 4-D size batteries? :)

it may be the best 4D game out, but I don't think anything will ever get more 5D than Tetris.

clearly you can see that SMG and R&C have totally different gameplay styles. if not, well i dont think i need to say any more.
