So is it racist to...

I thought the same thing when I saw that commercial...if it were only black families, the answer would be yes...or if there were watermellon.

The answer is yes. Remember when Nissan(?) got in so much trouble for the gold tooth incident? That was obviously racist as well.

nothing wrong with it. It's not stereotyping, it's just a black family eating chicken. I hate how people look way too far into the smallest things.

How could it be?
Is is racist to have white people in a comercial for cars?

No, because we all know that african americans love chicken.

j/k 😉

Racist probably not.... but stereotyping maybe. I haven't seen the commercial.

It wasn't the chicken eating that did it for me, it was the fact that the dude was wearing a straw hat and overalls, and the chick had her hair tied up in a bandana, a la Aunt Jemima. I could almost accept all that as just coincidence, but did they really have to make them all barefoot? I mean, come on! If just one of the seven kids had shoes on it wouldn't have been quite so bad. Even so, did they have to have TWO of the kids walk in with watermelons under their arms? I'm not even going to talk about when the youngest child says to the chicken, "Yousa tinken yousa people gonna die?"

Yeah, tell me that wasn't racist

Racism is what you make of it. If you think stereotyping = racism, then you should really be pissed at marketing companies. It's also a double standard. It's impossible to be racist against whites.
