Many hardcore gamers have killed the industry (IMO). People complain about one or two bugs and make it sound like the game is crap. They start flooding the developer's msg boards with posts saying how bad the game is. So now developers have to make sure their games are top notch and of the very highest quality before releasing. This is good in one (obvious) way, but it causes so many delays that it's not funny. Personally, I'd rather have a game that comes out and may have some bugs that occur for 10% of the population and have a patch come out in a month or so rather than waiting months and months for every bug to be squashed.
What games have come out after months and months of delays that was completly bug free? In my experience every computer game has bugs on release that are addressed with numerous patches down the line.
Oh definatly. But they are more focused on it now, IMO.
