so is cow tipping real?

people all over school bragging about their cow tipping experiences. all seem very confident that its real. however, many people on ranches told me its near impossible to tip a cow, as they are 1500 lbs, and are very aggressive. they stand on all fours too. so does anyone on ATOT actually know if cow tipping is real? anyone have any REAL experiences? or is it just an urban legend joke played on us city folk.

many of my friends keep bragging about how they go "cow tip" every weekend. im skeptical.

Most ranches don't have cows - they have steers. Dairy farms have cows, and they aren't aggressive at all.

Myth. Cows are very heavy, have a low center of gravity, usually sleep lying down (it's horses that sleep standing up), and have sharp senses and are very wary.

A steer is a bull that was castrated before maturity.

Usually lying down.

Steers are male cattle that have been castrated. Cows are female cattle.

I own two cows (actually a steer and a cow) and yes, it's a myth. (though horses also sleep laying down for at least 2 hours a day in order to get REM, the stand while dozing though).

A professor of mine, who lived in Minnesota prior, said it was real up there from time to time, and the sad part was when the kids were successful in tipping a cow, it usually broke all of it's ribbs and had to be shot on the scene.

I have an uncle who owned a mid-sized dairy farm until a few years ago. He tells me he has seen kids tip his cows.

Another funny story: I had a friend who went to a party on the WAY outskirts of town, and there were some cows in a feild next to the house. He decided to tip them (with some friends of his) but the cows were wide awake, and the cows charged.
