As far as I know no place does preorders for CPUs. At least not Newegg or Monarch (or any of the other big computer e-tailers).

If they go on sale monday then thats when they'll be listed.

CUrse this companies! Why don't they just tell the people? Just say a couple of words like " HEY DUDES AND DUDETTES! THIS CPU WILL BE RELEASED ON THIS DATE BUT WE WON'T TELL YOU THE DETAILS ABOUT THIS CPU". Isn't this better?

The reason they don't tell people is that the date AMD & other companies gives is a shipping date basically. The e-tailers have to receive the items & stock them & such, so it will normally be a week or more after the "release day". It took about a week from Corsair's release date to actually see some Xpert RAM around.

Venice isn't dual core....
Its i direct replacement for winchester. The first dual cores from AMD will be using the Toledo core i believe, and not until july probably.

Also, just because you can't buy them today doesn't mean that they weren't released today. They could be on a FedEx truck headed for Newegg as we speak. Er, I mean "post online."

I really thought Venice was dual core... guess not... does anyone think its worth waiting for Venice core vs Winchester?

Hmm, no Venice to be found :(

On the bright side, ExtremeTech has a preview of the upcoming Pentium 4 EE 840 dual core. We just might see this before Venice! :)

For those that keep asking why they aren't on e-tailers on the 4th...
