So, is anyone going to see Michael Jackson and the Chocolate Factory?

Same here, I was looking forward to it until I saw the trailer. For some reason I thought it was going to be more dark, and less for kids this time around. I even considered the possibility of an R rating.

Don't know why I thought that, but look at American McGee's version of Alice (in Wonderland) which there have been talks of making a movie on. I was hoping this was going to be something like that.

I think it looks like a giant piece of crap.

Even though I like Depp, I'm not going to see it.

83% of people that have actually seen it say you are a giant piece of crap!

Riiiight...did you notice that the user reviews only give it 47%?

Critics my ass...more like paid employees.

I could just as easily direct you to 61 people who give it an average score of B+, but who the fvck even knows if any of these people have seen the movie.

Did you even read the reviews? It looked good but you won't like what you're seeing....that's not a good review...

i'm going to see it... i like depp and i like the idea of them remaking it

i believe the saying is "dont knock it until you try it" -- if you have no intention to see the movie then why try to tell others it's crap when you have not yet seen it yourself.

"A magical, mystical, messed up horror flick for the kiddies."
"The result isn?t dark. It?s cheerily unsettling in a way that only leftfield satirists like Burton and Dahl can pull off."
"Kids may get nightmares from this stuff. You get the feeling that's the way Dahl would have liked it."
"Burton has created a psychedelic, off-beat, dark comedy combined with a heartfelt tale about one little boy who continues to hope and dream"

From review blurbs.

Seriously, when I saw the trailer out of the corner of my eye, i was like, "WTF? MJ is in a movie?!"

Jonny Depp is frickin' crazy.

Yea, he is. Look at all the movies he's done; chances are it's a role a typical movie star wouldn't take...then again, that's what has made him a movie star.

'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'

Tim Burton and Johnny Depp re-team for a stab at Roald Dahl's classic children's story. Depp plays the reclusive candy pioneer, Willy Wonka, who invites five lucky children from different parts of the world to a tour of his exotic chocolate factory.

I was like WTF is this moron talking about Michael Jackson???

I said it before and I'll say it again.. rottentomatoes is THE WORST AND MOST REDICULOUS FUCKING WEBSITE for movie reviews. I hate everything about it, their rating system is so asinine and misleading. Why people see such an appeal of it over IMDB and even Yahoo! Movies is beyond me, even their forums are a bunch of shit.
