The new 512 version will have 128 ps while the new 640 version has 112. I believe anyway.
 
there is already a new version... but there is an even NEWER third version comming out. with 512MB and then with a gig.
 
I really hate the confusing 8800GTS situation, they might as well rename it to 8800WTF

Out of an infinite number of names/numbers that they can use, they choose to use the same one for each new model....

Agreed. They really can't win this one though. Either they have every possible suffix under the sun, or they just use the same name over and over again. I really think they should have named the G92 cards 8900 instead of 8800. 8900GT and 8900GTS would make sense for these cards.

This is one of the funniest things ever... 8800WTF!

Yes, the confusion is INTENTIONAL... they are calling 3 different cards the exact same name? their new mid range card that beats most high end cards from last year has a name and MSRP making it seem worse? (GT vs GTS)... basically any confusion is intentional to sell the old cards...

LMFAO!! 8800WTF it is!

obviously they are saving 8900 series for either g92 x2 or g100.
