Hi Folks,

I know this has been a contested issue on these forums and abroad, so I decided to write my Law 12 term paper on it! Does anyone have any articles regarding these issues in their area, or does anyone have any links that might be useful?

As well I'm going to use the results of this survey to in my paper as well!

I appreciate your input!

I agree. But in all seriousness, I might end up quoting some knowledgeable posts here, so I'd appreciate some seriousness.

Boycott RIAA

Those are the two that I can think of right now... of course they tell their side of the story... I am sure Slashdot has a ton of info on it as well...

Also, poll results here will be biased.

Well, it's a good quote for the "direct from the 16-year-old nerd crowd" reaction. ;)

Suggestion #1:

"subpoenas" not "subpoena's"

Suggestion #2:

The position you take isn't as important as the reasoning and support you show for your argument.

I understand that posts here will be biased, the fact remains that my teacher will be impressed that I polled people and got results that back up my thesis.

You'll probably find this article a useful source.

Songs that were heavily downloaded showed no measurable drop in sales, the researchers found after tracking sales of 680 albums over the course of 17 weeks in the second half of 2002. Matching that data with activity on the OpenNap file-sharing network, they concluded that file sharing actually increases CD sales for hot albums that sell more than 600,000 copies. For every 150 downloads of a song from those albums, sales increase by a copy, the researchers found.
