So I'm watching Wacky Races and drinking a nice West Coast IPA and it hit me.

I really loved this short lived cartoon as a small child. As a kid I thought I understood the premise of the show but didn't really figure shit out until I was an adult. As a lad I thought Dick Dastardly & Muttley tried to sabotage every race so they would be the winners. So it made sense every episode they'd set a boobie trap, unfortunately for them, shit would always backfire. As an IPA drinking adult I now see that in every episode they were far enough in the lead to stop to plant elaborate traps. With how far ahead they had to be for that, they could have easily been undefeated had they wanted to race to win. And now I see that they never even cared about winning, they were just dickheads who wanted to fuck with the other racers. Googling it, there was a reboot in 2018, I'm curious but scared they ruined it. With all the PC/Woke bullshit I bet they couldn't call him Dick Dastardly and might have been forced to turn him into a nice guy. I mean Oscar the Grouch doesn't live in a trash can anymore, and Cookie Monster would rather eat veggies than cookies. All because of the Karens out there crying about shit.

WTF!?? That trash can of his was spacious, he had multiple rooms and everything.

Oscar’s trash can
While appearing to be the size of a normal trash can on the outside, Oscar's trash can is much bigger on the inside, as revealed in The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland. Oscar has said it holds a farm, swimming pool, ice rink, bowling alley, and piano. Other items include his pet worm Slimey, his pet elephant Fluffy, his shoes, a backdoor and a dimensional gate to Grouchland USA, his hometown.

Sorry, that wasn't accurate, but I'd been drinking beer and that was what a kid told me right before I posted, never listen to 7 year old. I Googled and he now lives in a recycling bin, so the 7 year old who told me just doesn't understand a recycle bin's basically a trash can. Although the thought of Oscar living in a bin full of plastic bottles and aluminum cans is kinda depressing. He loves trash, and recycle bin trash isn't really that trashy.

60s was cool for kid cartoons, many of which were targeted to adults in hidden ways.

There were a lot of really obscure one though like these and Terry Toons. Deputy Dog, Awesome Possum ....

Quality misuse of "PC/Woke" too, and also false on the Cookie Monster front. I expect better from you

He still eats Cookies yes, but now he loves Brocolli and shit. in the 80's Cookie Monster wouldn't have touched a plate of Brocolli. I watched an episode with a small child and Cookie Monster picked a veggie over a cookie. That's fuckin blasphemy to the tenth power. S.S. wants to teach kids about healthy eating and moderation for snacks. When I was a small child Cookie Monster had no chill around cookies and use to literally wolf down a plate full of them like a savage, and he has monster in his name.

Yell louder and maybe the clouds will hear you ;)
Cookie Monster has been touting the importance of healthy eating and having a balanced diet as far back as the 1970s. In a 1974 appearance on the TV game show What's My Line?, Jim Henson discussed the topic with panelist Dr. Joyce Brothers:
Brothers: "Are you going to use the Cookie Monster to teach children nutrition?"
Henson: "Well, we did a commercial for The Nutrition Council with Cookie Monster, mostly to offset all those cookies we forced down his throat!"

Cookie Monster premiered his hit rap single "Healthy Food," a song about eating healthily, way back in 1987, almost two decades before the press outrage.

Of course back in the day my EVIL (/s) parents forced me to eat tons of veggies from my dad's garden regardless of weather I wanted to or not so it was fine to show a puppet-monster living on cookies on TV.

Now with parents "doing their own research" and "allowing kids to decide what they eat" instead (shockingly kids DO NOT learn to eat healthy on their own!) it's a real problem even implying cookies are healthy because some tard on Facebook will take it literally since they were never taught different. (and then sue)

Nevertheless you KNOW something crazy/dumb along the lines of the "liability issue" I posited was discussed in a meeting with the PBS legal team!
