...from Italy. I'm doing work for a client (my cousin) who decided to inform me yesterday that a project I was working on was holding up a shipment and it needed to be done today (2/17). Since he's in Italy, I either had to stay up to some God-awful hour today, or get up really early... same thing really.
Lessons learned from this:
1) I need a contract that stipulates that I don't do last minute work, or I need a stipulation that gets me paid more for rush work.
2) I need to make it abundantly clear to my cousin that this can never happen again and that I need to be informed of any and all deadlines. Seems like common sense, but it needs to be reinforced.
3) I should probably stop working for clients several time zones ahead or behind my own.
