... and it's been two weeks. The person on the other end hasn't responded or so I think.

On godaddy.com it says Status as "Transaction ID and Security Code Required". Does that mean they've sent the email and I don't have to do anything?

(PS, yes I'm attempting to get spicytuna.com. right now it's redirecting to some pay-per-click site which is shady! Judge me how you will.)

don't new icann rules state that if they don't reply you automatically get the domain?

That's what I thought! Can you attempt to cancel the transfer and then try it again?

I can but I don't want to restart the transfer if the timer is already ticking. Also won't that send another email to the owner of the domain? I definitely don't want that! :p

No. ICANN only states that the registrar receiving the domain must verify the authenticity of the transfer. If they can't do it, no matter the time frame, the domain stays put.

The new rules only apply to the registrar that is loosing the domain. They have the option of verifying the authenticity, and if they can't in 5 days, it gets transfered. This is AFTER the receiving registrar has verified it.

In this case, the first verification hasn't happened, and so the new rules don't have any affect.

PS. This thread has been forwarded to the ICANN domain mediation board.

Those people are in charge of all domains. They can manually cancel your transfer.
