So I'm trying to do a burn out, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

For starters, you're not supposed to hold the brakes. The brakes and the clutch are made of a similar material, but you have 2 brakes on the front wheels while you only have 1 clutch powering the front wheels. 2 are stronger than 1.

edit:
This is how a burnout works. You spin the tires without holding the brakes.

You do a burn out by stepping on the gas. Simple as that. The car will handle the rest. If it does not, then you have no business doing a burnout in the first place. Likewise if you think you're cool spinning your tires on wet pavement, you fail.

"yes i know it wasnt burning out. the engine had a knock, the trans was bad, and the clutch was fried. I did this for the hell of it. the car was a total loss due to a rollover accident"

Looked to be wet outside, and it's not that hard to get the fronts spinning in an SRT. Many, many compounding failures, way to go champ.

You can hold the brakes if you've got line lock though. Then the car will stay put while you do it. More of a bad ass drag strip burn out.

That wasn't a clutch. That was a dang piston going through the head. Those were valve parts flying out.

I assume that would mean clockwise rotation as looking at the flywheel?

It was something in the clutch system grenading...

Flywheel probably took the pressure plate and clutch disc with it. There's plenty of springs, fingers, and bolts to makie it look like valve train parts.

That flywheen had to have been under a ridiculous amount of heat.

Lucky whatever it was that punched through the hood didn't punch through the firewall. Dragsters have a shroud covering the bell housing to absorb broken bits of clutch and flywheel, Neon's apparently don't.
