something small, easy to care for, nothing that will freak my wife out. 🙂

I was thinking turtle but they seem to take a little more care then I thought.

frogs look like fun.

Lizards look pretty cool too and easy to care for although that might be encroaching on the freaking the wife out.

Snake = divorce.

as far as setting the tank up, I know the size would depend on what I get
but I would like to have something really appealing looking.

so any ideas?

I built a terrarium but for a collection of exotic carnivorous plants. I used a fish tank. Difficult to care for, but tropical plants are when you live in the UK!

Well, any terrarium is going to be a bit of work. It really depends on how you look at it.

I used to have an iguana, and he was a pain in the ass. Way more so than my aquarium.

A lot of lizards have to be held every day, and cleaning the tank is a pain. That, and the thing stinks to high heaven (think lizard feces + 100 degree temps + open top aquarium).

But, if you're still up for it, more power to you.

no. I took it outside one summer day for the plants to get some heat, got drunk, forgot about it, happened to be one of the hottest days of the year and the plans (which are mainly bog plants) all got burnt to hell. £150 worth of plants down the drain, including my favourite mr snappy (look him up in youtube).
