but what if the saddam videos we are seeing are fake. doesnt it seem a little too easy, that they found saddam in the town of his birthplace (which was pretty easy, why didnt they think of that before, i mean cnn said he had hid there 44 years before also), without any violence, and he's being cooperative?

i mean his sons fought to their death in a giant gun fight right?


so cnn was mentioning they had thought maybe it was an body double which got me thinking.

what if this is a US imposter. that the US government made to finally silence people who questioned the iraq war. (i will continue to be one of them, if france came over shot bush in the head... and killed everyone in DC, that is basically what we have done to iraq). they could easily make an imposter, send out videos of him being examined with a big ass beard etc. why the hell not? and all of america would believe it, spirits would go up, stocks will go up (And they will next week, i guarantee it especially with the dows recent break of 10k) , not to mention its an election year.

i can see colin powell , bush and cheaney in a room right now, laughing. because bush is going to get re-elected. i can already see it, economic recovery and capture of world terrorist, vote for me in 2k4 bush jr.

I agree. On the other hand, something of this scale would have slip-up that, when (not if) discovered, would destroy the GOP from holding any office in the near future. Uday and Qusay were in a house with lots of bodyguards, Saddam was in the hole in the ground....

we havent spent as much trying to catch osama. i wouldnt know why. lets say you believe my logic. i am not saying i am a die hard wacko, and saying that is the only way it could have been im just saying its a possiblity.

we have spent who knows how much money in iraq. there is much greater incentive to say "oh yes we caught saddam" than osama. then again who knows maybe we'll catch osama next week.

In a way it would make a lot of sense. Diehard loyalists are killing american soldiers all the time because Saddam told them to resist until the very end. And now they see Saddam himself convieniently give up without resistance....

Still, there is no way the U.S. would try this. If it got exposed, it would be too much of a distaster. What if Saddam released another video tape denying his capture. U.S. would be fvcked.

as for the .... why didnt we do it earlier. you have all pointed out this is risky. when you get to a certain point risky become an option.


as for the spending, i wasnt talking time. most people are ok with actually spending time to find osama since he did destroy the towers in america. there isnt really a huge controversy about trying to find osama bin laden. i was talking about spending MONEY.
