so i vulantered to stay at work through the hurricane in Norfolk. good news is it shouldnt be to bad. its been fun so far was up on the roof of our building thats 8 stories tall and the wind was getting really strong. im going to go back up there when the storm really hits and get some pics. should be fun.
so im stuck at work for the next few days.....

If you get your dumb ass blown off the roof you should be able to get at least one picture on the way down.
Preferably of your face.
Enjoy yourself, I kinda envy the chance to witness it. Then again I want to see a tornado up close & personal too, so maybe I'm just crazy.

im not the only one here but pretty close to it. some one has to stay and make sure the server farms stay working and check for leaks with all this rain. its pretty windy and the rain is comming down pretty hard now.
can you go up on the roof, put your arms up in the air, and scream "I'm the king of the world!!!!", then take pics?

I saw a couple in the works. The night of my HS Graduation party, I was watching some storms forming, and saw in a 20 minute span about 14 funnels drop out of the clouds. 3 of them dropped far enough that I thought they would touch, but they ended up going back up into the cloud. It was completely amazing. I only wish I had my camera with me at the time. Canon AE-1 at the time. Yes, it was before digital cameras were a viable option any decent pics.
Take a big sheet. Tie it to your wrists and ankles. Tie a rope around your waist and to something on the roof. THEN go up there....
Same here. I'd like to move down to florida some day. Build myself a little concrete bunker thingy in my lawn with some 1/2" plexiglass windows and then when the hurricane came I'd be golden. Put some tasty munchies in there, a good book, comfy chair. That'd be sweet

would be sweet...until a 2 x 4 comes through your 1/2 inch plexiglass and impails you.
i ve been up to the roof a few times so far today and it has been a lot of fun. the winds gust to 50mph and it really blows you around. not to much rain. will be going back up there in a little when the winds get a little stronger here.
