So I'm sick

episodic

Lifer
I think I've got bronchitus or even pnemonia. I have a deep gutteral rattling with a never ending supply of coughing up phlegm.

Being the weekend, I'm self medicating with some antibiotics I had leftover in the fridge. I'm sucking down the nyquil as well.

My jaw, throat, and belly hurts from all the coughing.

So much for my three days.

I have learned much more about photoshop than ever before these last two days sitting here sick.

If you've got a bacterial infection, you're waiting too long to go see a doctor. Plus taking leftover antibiotics will not kill the infection completely and it could come on even stronger. GO SEE A DOCTOR.

Well you could go to urgent care but seeing as you had some medicine in the fridge I am sure seeing a Doctor is a crimp on your style.

take a picture of youself looking like sh!t and chop it to look like you are in Hawaii having a great time....

think of yourself as " the running man"

Lots of you city guys/gals automatically assume that everywhere has a doctor on weekends ala an urgent care place. I live in the middle of farking nowhere. We are lucky to have a doc during the week.

What antibiotic is it? Also if you only have a few antibiotic pills left, you can make yourself even sicker. Because if you dont kill all the bacteria some will become resistant to the antibiotics you used and come back and own your ass. Take some guafenesin (expectorant) to help cough up the phlegm (found in robitussin), and the dextromethorphan (anti-cough) will help with the coughing (also found in robitussin).

Goodluck, go see a dr. You will need specific Antibiotics.

About 3/4 of a bottle of amoxicillion 500 mg I believe. I'm too lazy to get up and look.

Best thing you can do is see a dr and get tested to see exactly what you have. Self medication is never really a good thing unless you're a doctor yourself or know wtf your doing. 🙂

wow that was really stupid. you need specific antibiotics to the type of bacteria. the side effects themselves can get bad...

Well if he had a 3/4 bottle of amoxicillin left from before, he obviously was NOT compliant with a previous medication regimen that he was prescribed by his dr.

If it is still going on Tuesday, I will. I never lie to my doc either, I tell em when I self medicate 😛

I can't afford an emergency room bill - there are no urgent care clinics here.

I usually get sick at the worst times.

I always hear this, but when I go to the doc, they just prescribe something. They never 'culture' it or anything. I really don't know how they could tell what I have either without checking.

The leftovers were from a change in meds several months ago. I did finish the regime after the change. I kept the spares in the fridge for an emergency.

Self-medicating with antibiotics... good thinking. You can't do this! All you end up doing is feeling better for a spell and creating a more resistant strain.

So better to just sit here and die? 😛

They can tell by examining the symptoms you're having.
