I just know I want to do something with computers lol ya thats a start right? What are my choices? I have to go to the admissions office soon but I dont know what I want to do. Where can I go to help me find the path?

Ask yourself if there is anything, money aside, that you want to do for the rest of your life. This is your major. It will change 3 times or so before you know for sure. Accept this :)

You are so unique...I mean only about 80% of undergrad freshmen are like you!

Just kidding...take some classes that sound interesting to you and see how they are/talk to an advisor.

The best advice I can give you is to start taking your general ed. Those classes will help you determine what you want to do in the future. Plus, if you change majors, you won't have to retake a bunch of classes... if you took your major classes first.

Take the core classes that are required for any major. Its varies state to state, but typically there are about 48-54 credit hours of required courses. By the time you finish them you should know what you want to do. If you don't your SOL, actually you'll be just like people that got a degree just to have a degree, but really have no need for the degree they got.

Tell them you want to be open option. Don't even pick a general school (engineering, liberal arts, natural sciences, etc.), just be open option. Then go to the career center and tell them "I need help choosing a major" and take that under consideration (but don't take it as gospel). Then, try a class or two in whatever they reccomend. If you like it, keep going. If not, try something else.

Really? My High School avg was 12...

Are you saying that the average ACT score at your high school was 12? If so, that school needs to be condemned immediately for the sake of the children.

Yes, That is what I'm saying. Yes, the school is under review & I got a letter JR. yr saying that if I wanted to go to an another school I could because the school is under review or something.

isn't a decent ACT score like a 29-30? Perfect's are what, 35's? I never took them, I got a 1280 on my SAT's and then realized I was going to a JC no matter what.

I think a 36 is the highest score on the ACT. A 29-30+ is considered 'good', I guess. I can't believe that people actually score a 12 on the ACT. It doesn't even seem possible to score that low.

I take it a 12 is like getting a 800 on your SAT's? I can't believe some of my friends scored under 1000. They have 3.6-3.8 GPA's, are enrolled in pre-cal or calculus, yet can't even outscore me (a 2.9 student) on the math section. Granted I think I scored in the 98th percentile, but still :)

My high school GPA was 1.25 or something  but High School was fun!

Edit: I'm not a dumbass but I'm a avg student, just very lazy when it comes to school. I can hang out with my friends 24/7 though :)

Lol, there was something in the papers (Chicago Tribune I think) about the national ACT scores averaging at around 20. White's were first at 22ish, Asians second at 21ish, forgot the rest. Do remember blacks were the lowest though.

Ah yes, here's the scores for Illinois

"The average composite score for Illinois' Asian-American students was 22.1. For white students it was 21.6. Students who defined themselves as Mexican-American/Chicano posted a composite score of 17.6; Puerto Rican/Hispanic, 17.5; American Indian, 17.4; and African-American, 16.8." (Chicago Tribune, Aug 20, 2003).

I got a 31 and that was only mid at my school
