alright, first off, sorry but the U.S. sucks compared to China, for anyone that thinks differently, unless you've been here you can't argue. Secondly, games out here rock! :) There's a game called midnight maximum tune 2 and 3 that i've spend probably close to 100yuan playing which is rather sad because i'm supposed to be a "tourist" ;)

Anyway, I was wondering if someone who can read chinese might be able to look around and see if I can buy this game for the PC, or any older version of it, like Midnight Maximum Tune 2 or something. It blows the socks off any racing game I've played and it's just the most fun I've had at an arcade in...well, ever! The arcades here just make the U.S. look like something from a 3rd world...

Oh, and not to mention games are running about 50yuan a piece out here (which comes out to something like $8.50!!) LOL, i've got COD4, Crysis, Bioshock, NFS, GoW, WiC, etc. and they're all English...it's unreal! And no they're not fakes, the fakes are .88cents :)

Just thought I'd post all this for anyone thinking of their next vacation ;) might as well come with perks, eh?

Yeah but you had to pay $1000+ for plane tickets. I only paid $50 for Crysis. Who's the moron now? :)

Yeah, until you get them home, install them and they fail to activate because they're region coded for Asia and you're not in China anymore!

You can change your region settings in Windows.

Out of curiosity, is the INQ website still banned over in China :p? Tech tabloids = shameless guilty pleasure of mine.

All fun and games until you run out of your hard earned US dollars, need to find a job over there, and then find out why those games are only $8.50 ;)

And if you'd said anything different, you might have ended up in a Chinese prison.

Im chinese, born in china, and visit china every 2 years at least. No, China does not > USA, unfortunately :p

And yes, you gotta love the computer marts in china, 1 side has the pirated CD games for like 10 yuan and on the other side u got the real games slightly more expensive, but still REALLY REALLY cheap when u compare to US dollars. Whenvever i go to china, i splurge and by like 10 games i always wanted to buy but didnt.... for the price of 1 US game. its awesome

Still china has its downsides (biggest of which is the great internet firewall :p). Personally i would not want to live in china, but visiting china is great.

You can get legitimate software cheap in a lot of asian countries. In India, Supreme Commander and Stalker were going for $5.

I'm suprised how negative people are towards China...actually, i'm not. The U.S. view of this country is completely manipulated. Chinese people are nicer, kinder, more polite, more respectful, harder workers, healthier, more outgoing, the list goes on and on. I'm actually depressed that my vacation ends in 2 weeks.

As for the $1000 for airplane tickets, actually yeah, I did spend that much, then when I got here my new family (my wife is Chinese, hence the vacation) gave all our money back and then some as "welcoming gifts". If China's so poor as everyone says, why is it i'm sitting over here $3000 richer with 2 casmere (spelling?) suits in the closet and a suitcase full of computer software and games :) Meanwhile I've hit every nice restaraunt I've been able to find and I'm having a great time.

And that 1 baby comment was stupid. It's regulated by the government to avoid people having 5 or 6 kids like in america and then leeching off the government welfare system. Try looking past propaganda and experience things for yourself.

Just to note, there's gotta be some 20 skyscrapers going up in just this area where i'm staying, not including the rest of the city or down at the beach. If this country sucks so bad, why is it that in NY where I live, i havn't seen a skyscraper go up in years? China's economy is strong, ours is weak, I actually feel sorry that people don't realize this and take a couple of ques from what they're doing out here because of that "superiority complex" americans have.

Like I said in my first post, I didn't want to hear from any people that havn't been here themselves, you just have no idea what you're talking about unfortunately.

I'm curious where you are from, I'm currently in Dalian and then I'm leaving for Shanghai in 2 days. I was in Shanghai earlier but i've spend that last 2 weeks here. I'd love to live here, but i'm going to Japan this summer so maybe i'll test those waters before I make a decision. Once I finish school next year though I'm definately out of there :( it's not worth raising a family in that environment anymore.

Yea, and spending 2 weeks there on vacation makes you an expert.....

You should probably take all of this BS over to P&N.

I guess you are not Chinese? That's why people were nice. Special treatment. I find Chinese people in general to be very rude and uncaring.

I was born in China and lived there for around 10 years. I still visit occasionally, and keep in touch with what's going on there. China is no where near as bad as many people in the West tend to think, but it still has a long way to go before it reaches the level of sophistication here. Why do you think so many Chinese born in China want out? Besides, the areas you visited were probably the most developed. A vast majority of area is still stuck in the last century.

I miss arcades. I remember putting quarters up and waiting your turn to get your a$$ handed back to you by a 5 year old w/ a thick packet of paper filled with FAQs in killer instinct. Oh the memories. =P

I loved going to the arcades myself and there used to be a few good ones where I used to live. Unfortunately that's no longer the case as the home console systems have pretty much killed off the arcade.

Insofar as the op is concerned I looked up the title on YouTube to see what it looked like. Interesting game but nothing terribly special if you ask me. The games that come to mind that are similar to it are for the 360 or the PS2. If you have a 360 and like games like that I'd say Project Gotham Racing 4 would probably be a good fit for you.

China sucks in every way possible.

It ROX for foreigners though.

My friend's dad, who ships slaves *cough* I mean immigrant workers from China to the other neighboring states, brought back a bootleg of the Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King 9 months before it was released in theaters. He also got Matrix 4 months before it was released but that flick so it doesn't really matter...XD

Still, China is s**t.

I really really want to own you on this one, but alas...not PN!!!

If you transport your disillusioned mind over to the political board I'd be happy to knock some sense into ya. :p
