be content that you even got a raise.
I know many computer experts, who do network administration, programming, etc... and are not making a dime over 38k, and have had a wage freeze for almost 3 years.

stop promoting complacency with sub par payment and employee treatment.

4.7% is a great raise. Most companies give 2%-3% raises. 4%-6% is usually reserved for outstanding employees.

Consider yourself lucky. I've never heard of a 10% raise without some sort of promotion.

Same here. 4.7 is a pretty darn good raise.

If you want more, get a promotion. There may even be policy on how much the raise can be.

The best raise my company gave out was 7% - so yeah - don't expect 10% right after one year.
The range was 0% to 7%.

I'm in negotiations at the moment, and I'm looking at asking for a 7% raise to cover the COLA for 2005 and 2006 as I haven't had a raise in 2 years. The COLA for 2005 was 2.6%, and for 20006 it is 4.1%.

I need to show my boss that chart. My company's chart says "Do the best outstanding creative work in the industry>>>get cost of living wage increase every 2 years or so."
