So I'm looking for a device to switch between my speakers and headphones...

...and I'm not having much luck finding anything cheap. There's a device at Radio Shack which seems to do what i want, but it costs a bit more than I would like to spend. Does anyone have a solution? How about making one myself?

You can make one with parts from Radio Shack using 2 or 3 1/8" 3 conductor panel mount jacks and a DPDT toggle switch.

Hey, don't dis the computer. I spent a good deal of money on it, although more of it probably should have been spent on the speakers, true. Thanks for the advice, though. I was thinking of rigging something together with Radio Shack adaptors, but I would prefer an out-of-the-box solution.

The lowest price I can find for that, though, is $27, almost twice of what Radio Shack wants for their adaptor.
