What's a good place to make money? I'm thinking of just doing quests and picking herbs and selling them until I have enough for my flying mount.

No, I will not buy gold from a website, either.

Help?

grind all your quests, then grind humanoids. Farming is easymode with high 60's mobs dropping up to 20silver each.

They should just make the level limit, 1000. Each level taking exponentially more time than the previous level. I wonder how long it would take for people to do so. And, would they?

i quit a year ago so i don't know how easy it is to get rares etc anymore but...I don't care about AH prices so here you go...

get a bunch of AH add ons (auctioneer etc) buy 2-5g blues instantly (to start out) and resell for 10g+ and pretty much double the price on anything you can
my wife did this when we were playing and made us a a few thousand a week

also always do bid of like 29.99.99 b/o of 30.00.00 people will always b/o - there is tons of easy gold in the AH

oh yeah it also gets much faster the more capital you have because you can control the entire AH by buying out anyone who is competing with you and marking up to your prices

if you try with a low amount of money and do good, try getting someone to loan you money and offer to pay it back like a loan you can easily double the money in a week or more..

some good targets when i played were shirts, herbs, gems, blues are very good especially twink items, ingots, and essences etc

Anywho, I'm in the same boat myself. Unlike you though, I don't have a gathering profession. Instead, I have two crafting professions (well, enchanting is sorta a crafting profession), both sucking up soooo much money that I could otherwise be saving... and I'm too stupid to just give them up x_x Oh well... As another poster said, finish off every single quest you can. At 70 the exp they yield equates to even more gold since you're at the cap. After that, mote farming seems to be the big thing. I plan to farm motes of mana and make spellthread with them, although if it's like other crafted goods, the raw mats will probably sell better than the finished product.

How do you not have money after reaching 70? Even after buying your mount. Hell I am only at 62 and I was able to get 100g just from quest and vendor selling. Those green items that drop sell to the vendor for like 3-4 gold each.

What class do you play? If you play a rogue, it's easy to get money. Pick pocket humanoids for silver and other goodies. They drop more silver once you kill them, too.

Yeah..is WoW really that fun? I only played it for a month. I never found myself happy and really enjoying the game. It was like being on drugs. You had to do it and you wanted to do it but it provided no satisfaction for me at the end of the day or even during game play. It's an addiction!!!!!!!!!!! Stay away!

I guess it's sort of that way. It's really fun for me because I have friends IRL that we group and run through and complete dungeons with. It's really fun because it's like you have to work towards all aspects of the game...and it takes a really long time.

You'll earn between 1k (if you're horrible with your money and have crafting profs) and 2k-2500+ (if you're great with it and have gathering profs) by the time you ding 70 - I had about 1300-1400, after having been dead broke beforehand due to the fact I enjoy PvP. 60% flying mount is 1k gold for skill + mount, and you can't skip the 900g skill - it's a prereq for the epic skill. The 280% epic flyer + skill is 5k gold.

Different strokes I guess, it's not for everyone. I agree with Blanco that the social aspect plays a big part in it. I play with a few RL friends, some online friends from back in EQ and a bunch of friends I've made playing.

Farming motes that you use to make primals seems to be another good cash cow.

Primals are used in almost everything.

And as said before, if you still have quests to do, once you're 70, you get at least 11g per quest (in addition to item rewards to sell) and you can get more from the group/dungeon quests.

From what I've heard, they lowered the price on the epic land mount to 600g. I wouldn't know since my rogue has long since had his epic mount and I haven't checked on another character to confirm it. But it wouldn't make sense for them to keep it at 1000g (unaffected by reputation) when the flying mount costs the same (and is a higher level of riding skill).

Best thing to do is finish all the quests you can once you hit 70 (good for items and gold) and then farm whatever is selling for the most money (be it motes, primals (last I knew, primals were better to sell than motes) or cloth). I never finished Shadowmoon Valley before I switched to my Shaman, but I have about 1750g after buying the superior flying mount. Unfortunately for me, I never sell things like motes, because I'm so anal that I MAY need them some time :p. So I'll probably just end up farming blood elves and trading their signets for the Aldor rep version.

This is true, I bought my riding training on my new Shaman and noticed the epic training was only around 560g.

Finish all the quests if you can. Then grind on the mobs that give you rep. You will got your money and earn rep. at the same time. Kill 2 birds with 1 stones.

At level 70, you can solo most, if not all, of live strat.

Get orbs.. rinse and repeat.

You can EASILY make 50 gold/hour doing this if not more.
