So, I'm in the process of hiding my surround sound speaker wires.

I bought a pair of Klipsch RCW5 in wall speakers for the rear channel, I already have a pair of RF3 main speakers and a RC3 center with a nice 10" subwoofer to go in the corner. Anyway, some damage to our flooring by a water leak necessitated removing the flooring (hardwood over concrete slab). I decided to take the opportunity to replace the ugly grey tile around our fireplace with something that goes with the colors in our familyroom so I tore that out and retiled, I also ran the surround sound speaker wires behind the fireplace and the subwoofer cable is imbedded along the wall between the tile and the fireplace front (I grouted over it in fact, hopefully, I'll never have to replace it :p ).

I'm planning on running the sub cable between the flooring and the base molding and the surround wires I figured I'd rout out a channel in the base molding and run the speaker wire in there.

I'll post pics when it's all complete. Hopefully within a couple weeks.

make sure you get cable that is rated for that type of operation. (might get stung by your home owner's insurance if its not correct)

I am going to run my suroound wires the same way.
Route out the back of the moulding then in and up the wall.

That's exactly what I did.

crappy pic

We put in new carpet and trim in the basement and I took some time to etch a cable recess in the bottom edge of the drywall. The baseboard then covered it all up.

Behind the entertainment center I've got a plate that I connected everything to. I only wish that I had run a subwoofer drop back there so I could put a sub in a little different placement and tried putting in a cat5 drop. Oh well.

Very high on the WAF!

I ran my speaker wires down into the cellar underneath our livingroom and then up through the walls to the surround speakers. My wife wouldn't let me do it any other way. I'm happy to finally have surround sound :)

Good luck

into the wall

no wires

the wires come out just underneath the crown molding and they are covered inside a white cord channeling tube...

I tucked the surround wires underneath the baseboard...three 16 gauge wires fit underneath it...it would be a boring pic of the baseboard and carpet so I didn't take a pic...

I ran my wires for the surrounds and center through the crown molding and the sub through the base molding
