So, my family is complaining that I spend to much time off on my computer by myself (most of which is spent browsing tech sites), and in the interest of getting them off my back i'm looking to get a reasonably priced notebook so that I can browse in the livingroom when they are home. I want something that has a proper CPU (no atom) and an upgradable hard drive, with space for 4gb of ram. Battery life is of little concern since I will be using it near an outlet, but being able to expand it to a larger battery would be a bonus. 1920x1200 screen and a mobile core 2 duo would rock, but I'm trying to keep this under $7-800 if possible. Screen needs to be at least 13 inches, and I want a DVD drive on it. So where do I start? I'm familiar with the CPUs themselves but I have no idea where to start looking in terms of who sells what these days. For perspective, my last laptop was a pentium 90mhz based thinkpad.
Ed: ooh and no intel integrated graphics. I want to be able to run everquest 2 at minimum graphics if I so desire and intel integrated wouldn't really work for that
MOD EDIT: You can start by posting in the subforum for notebooks. ^_^ - Zap
