they blew the console up in my face when the ship was attacked.

surprisingly :disgust:, i was the first and only casualty.

you are warned!
Good for you! Those consoles have to blow up and kill someone, better you than a regular cast member.

Which episode? You were one of their trusty disposable Ensigns I trust?

I think that's how the hierarchy works - automatic promotion after 1 year if you survive.
Just think how hard they have it. Here we just get BSOD's or random reboots. There, the console blows up. Maybe that'll be Microsoft's new upgrade "motivation" with Vista's replacement - upgrade now or your computer will explode the next time it crashes. :)

Just because...

Compliments of HN from the ST:TNG thread

Freaking hilarious!

Thanks so much for the awesome words of support guys.

Gotta tell ya, I'm just a WEE bit nervous today, but I'm doing things to try and pass that.

I'll update tomorrow after the night filming tonight.

Could be very wrong, though.

You'er right. I was in the Silence of the Lambs with Jodi Forster as an extra. All I did was walk in front of her as she opens the door to the West Virginia funeral home and IIRC I think we got around $50 a day. A friend of mine was a stand in for Jodi and she did as you say, stood in place so they could get the camera shots setup.

Yeah, we wrapped filming in this area Sunday morning at 2am. They go to a few different locations out in NC next.

I've not had time to really keep this thread updated as it's been 14 hour days and then nights out with the production crew. How they work 14-16 hours a day and then go out almost every night and not drop dead is beyond me.

I've got a ton of work to catch up on back in the real world! But I'll write it all up here.

I'll update the original post very soon. I've got some killer stories and over all it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

It actually may turn into something more because I became friends with the casting director and she likes to use people again if they show they're reliable.

I will say that Sunday before last I went to a bowling party for one of the girls in hair and makeup and George Clooney, Grant Heslov, and Wayne Duvall hung out with us all night. It was all a bit surreal when they turned the lights out and the blacklights on for 'cosmic bowling' and everytime I looked to my left there was Clooney smiling, teeth glowing in the blacklights!

By the way, to clear up the stand-in/extra confusion, they cast me as an extra first (that's how I got in the door) AND a stand in later (before I started working at all though). I did the stand in work first then when it came time to do the extra work I was given the option to continue the stand in work, so I did. I'll explain why later, but it works out much much better than being an extra in a group of a few hundred and MAYBE getting my face seen for a split second. Plus I got to go to all of the crew parties ;)
