UPDATE: I just went for the wardrobe fitting today. Here's my get up:
Text
They told me I'm going to be a fan in the football scenes. I have six days of filming for that at the end of March/first of April. I hope it doesn't get too warm as the suit and the overcoat are all wool!
After the fitting I went to the casting office and got my paperwork. I left and went right back because I had a quick question. The girl said "We were just talking about you. Do you want a stand in position tomorrow night as a soldier in the fox hole/fighting scenes? You'll be replacing a professional actor, he may not be able to make it so there's a chance you'll get in the role."
Of course I said yes and tried not to act too excited and look like a total noob!
I assume if I make it to that role I'll be something like "soldier number 10" in the credits who gets blown up!
I'm just grateful for the experience, conidering I've never acted a day in my life.
So I need the 'collective' of ATOT to send thoughts to the actor I'm stading in for to the effect that he won't be there or can't film
The place I went to was huge by the way. They actually had sets there, which was really not known in the area. In fact, in the room next to me they had an old train in front of a blue screen. Clooney and Zelwiger were in there and Zelwiger was coming into 'make up and hair' as I was going out.
I wanted to take pics for you guys but I didn't know if camera phones outside the set were allowed or not so I thought it best to err on the side of caution and not use it but the one time for the above pic.
I'll try to update as I can.....
Here in Greenville, SC George Clooney and Rene Zelwiger are filming a 'romantic comedy' called 'Leatherheads'. It's set in the 1920's and is based around the football of that era (hence the title 'Leatherheads'). Clooney is directing it.
They had an open casting call for extras the other day and I went, not really expecting anything. Just thought it'd be cool to try.
They called me yesterday though and asked if I can come in Friday for a wardrobe fitting and hair. I'll be on the set for six days total, in three locations, from 6am to 6pm.
I've heard it involves a lot of sitting around, and I'll likely either be in a scene where you can't see me in a crowd or end up on the cutting room floor
Sooooo, now I need a way to rep ATOT DISCREETLY in the film. Anything you think I can do to siganl to you guys and gals?
Oh, Milton from Office Space and Jim from the Office are in this film. They're really the only ones I'm excited about possibly meeting. I wonder if I took a red Swingline stapler if Milton would sign it
