As the title says, I'm headed home on the subway round 10 pm at night after classes and not really paying attention to anyone else in the car except the cute blonde in front of me bobbing her head to the music on her Walkman when I hear loud voices off to my right. I turn my head and see a tall balding guy in his early thirties talking to another shorter and larger guy around the same age, who's most likely just come back from the gym - he decided to sprawl across three seats with his feet on the last one to relax, since the car wasn't very crowded at the hour.
So their voices are getting pretty loud to the point I can make them out pretty clearly - tall balding guy apparently walked across to guy #2 and asked him to remove his feet from the other seat, and not to "sit like a savage next time." Short not-quite-as-balding guy apparently gets angry pretty easily, and tells the other guy to "F*%k off and mind your own damn business, a$$hole." Guy #1 replies with, "I'm a taxpayer here ya know, you're destroying public property!" To which he's told to "F*^k off!" again.
Tall guy shrugs and heads back to his seat, but short-fat guy isn't quite done with him...he bangs his feet against the seat in a little act of protest, and when getting off walks up to the other guy (who's pretending to be reading his book) and says, "Mind your own goddamn business, you f!%k. You're intruding my space, don't be such a goddamn spy." and leaves the car. The rest of us watching are trying not to snicker/laugh and I go back to watching Ms. Bobbing Head for the rest of the way home.
I can kind of see where both of these guys are coming from - though he wasn't ripping the seat to shreds, it's not helping and taking up sitting space anyway...but on the other hand, does tall guy have to be such a neurotic? Can't decide myself, what do you think?
