I actually volunteered to have an exchange student stay with me the last time I stayed in the dorm; I thought it would be neat. For some strange reason no other male students came in that semester, and I ended up with the room to myself the whole time.

i got a double as a single my first semester when I transferred because my rooommate changed his mind a week or two before we were due to arrive. I ended up having a single for the first semester, and got a 2nd semester transfer the second.

My school is pretty money grubbing...so if it happen at my school, it can happen annnywhere

Word of warning: If the student is indian (or maybe even mid-eastern) do not let them cook in your room. Might smell good while he's cooking, but you'll never get the curry smell out of your room

My roomate ended up moving out of the room just a few weeks into the 2nd semester of freshmen year, and I had the option of paying like $1000 to lock the room into a single. I opted not to pay and ended up never getting a new roomate. It was AWESOME!@
