japanese fanboys need to get over their cars already.

just because you drive something from over there doesn't mean it will last to 200k miles, go 0-60 in 3 seconds, and get 50 mpg.

Damn. My 05 4Runner kills that. Getting just over 21 highway, 18 or so city

But the MDX is alot heavier, 260hp, and alot more spacious. And bragging about 2-3 more miles per gallon isnt really "killing" it

True, but I'm really surprised the gas mileage is that much worse.

That is a silly comparison. Domestic SUV's in the lower teens MPG have V8's with around 300+hp.

There aren't many domestic luxury crossovers in that size and price range. The Cadillac SRX with a V6 is right inline with the MDX.

edit: FYI, Lincoln's Aviator will be out next fall and Buick will replace the Rendzevous with the Centieme sometime in 2007.

why are you guys sayin "Amen!" "QFT!" etc. for? I never really had an SUV car. I came from driving a 4 cylinder Integra GSR to a SUV and this is all new to me. Are you guys saying Domestic luxury SUV's get better gas mileage, lasts 200k miles, and does a faster 0-60 time then a MDX? If so then point me towards that car to trade in.

Try changing your driving habits.

It can have a huge effect on mileage.

no more than 1/4 throttle when starting, coast to stop signs/lights, etc. Try to maintain nice even speed without hard acceleration, etc.

give it a shot. I'd say you would raise that to 21

Officially it's 17 city / 23 highway, but the MDX has an actual MPG gauge on the dash, mine's been sitting at 17.x for the past few months. This is just a reflection of my driving habits.

And you guys have to remember that these "Japanese" Sport Utility Vehicles are targeted to American car drivers. SUV's are not popular in Japan (its silly to them to drive these huge chunks of steel just for commuting). They're made, designed, and targeted for the AMERICAN people. So technically its more of an AMERICAN car from a japanese car manufacturer.
