so im bored and i decide to go raid

but im having problems. im using the msi kt3-ultra board with raid setup. i just loaded optimum performance on raid 0 and then booted up my computer with windows 2000. here is what my problem is, the format of the drive is taking over an hour. right now im at 88% and its been an hour or so already, is this suppose to happen? my two harddrives are ibm 40gigs, identical drives. please let me know if this is normal, help a newbie out, thanks =]

Well, you are formatting 80gigs (40g x 2 in Raid 0). If it's one giant partition, your progress sounds about right, IMO. But then again, I'm a wannabe so what do I know.
