So I'm applying for a job, and I think I did something stupid...

The application clearly states that the material that needs to be sent in - the transcripts and letters of recommendation - are to be stapled ONCE and only once on teh left hand side...no paperclips, no folders, etc. So, my dilemma is this. I opened up one of my letters of rec so I can staple all of them together (my second letter did not come sealed and signed). The application states that all envelopes from the transcripts should be opened and tossed and only to staple the materials that are needed.

Should I have opened up the letter, or staples the envelope? I am second guessing my opening the letter now.

I JUST got a letter today. My reference told me not to open it, it was sealed, so I stapled the sealed envelope to the application.

What kind of job is this that letters of recommendation are treated with high enough class that you think just including them isn't enough?

No big deal.

The only kind of company that will chalk this up as some sort of penalty is corporate puppet-breeding one that you probably won't want to work for anyway.
