If you were in a coma for the following situations, would you want your family to pull the plug?

(sorry if repost too, I thought it was going to be, but a search for "coma" turned up nothing)

You're in a coma for 3 months and doctors say there's very little chance you'll pull out of it for a full recovery

Pull it! :)

You're in a coma for 3 months and doctors say there's very little chance you'll pull out of it and if you do, you'll be paralyzed/have brain damage

Pull it! :)

You're in a coma for a year and doctors say there's very little chance you'll pull out of it for a full recovery

Pull it! :)

Same as above, but 5 years, full recovery

Pull it! :)

I think a bullet through the brain or lethal injection would be better than pulling a feeding tube and letting you slowly die, wouldn't it?
I'll probably get flamed, but I think it makes more sence.

Scientists have concluded that pulling the feeding tube isnt painful, i dont know the specifics, just heard that on npr.

I'd want them to pull it so I wouldn't be any kind of financial, physical, or emotional burden on them should I pull out of it and not be able to fend for myself.

there was a good seinfeld where kramer had to answer questions like these ;) iirc he was more concerned about people looting his stuff if he went into a coma.

If I'm going to be brain dead after coming out of the coma, I'd rather I not be kept alive. I don't care how many months it's been.

"Do Not Resuscitate" baby all the way.

When I'm done, I'm done... anything else would be cheating.

if I was incapacitated/in a coma with little-to-no chance of a meaningful recovery, I'd want them to pull the plug and fill me up with morphine so I can drift away peacefully.

Was it really serious?

She just asked me because earlier she had been talking to her mom about it because it's been in the news lately.

So you really would hate if anything should ever happen to her?

If they pull the plug... then there's " no chance " at recovery. If they leave it in then there " is " a chance at a recovery. If you are in that coma how would you or anyone else " know " you were suffering " if " at all ?

Unless you write it down ( or living will ) that you don't want to be kept alive in that kind of state, and all it takes is intravenous feeding/water then you should be allowed to live. If you are brain dead and need a heart or lung or both machine to keep the body alive then I don't think anyone would blame anybody for pulling the plug at that point.

I imagine it will be an unpopular opinion, but, you value your life to much.

If your fate is so uncertain I see no reason to continue living. What's the big deal?
