So, if I get a job in SF, where the heck do I live?

I recently interviewed for a job in San Francisco. I don't know if I got the job yet, it's only been a couple days. Still, I'm considering the possibility of moving there if I get the job.

It's so expensive though!

I know this isn't news, but it's suddenly become really applicable to me personally. I don't know how much the job pays yet, so I guess amybe it's a lot, which would help.

Sorry, I'm just complaining.

Move in with some rich folks.

Wash their car or something.

You live in Daly City or East Bay and commute to SF by BART. But whereever you live, the cost of living in the Bay Area is HIGH compared to anywhere else.

Not compared to Boston.

So how's the crime rate in Boston now? My boss tells me you need a loaded 45 under your pillow if you live in Boston.

In a van down near the river

PS, of course those houses are going to be expensive when you are searching for units between 900k and 1 mil.

Working heavy construction, I've commuted all over the bay area. Once you find out how well the job will pay, then you'll need to decide how long you will be willing to drive or take the BART to get to work/home. Obviously, the farther you are from San Fran, the cheaper it will be. There is no easy drive into SF, and if you do drive, parking is at a premium when you get there....BART is your best bet if it gets you close to where you need to go...

How old are you? It takes most people a while after they've gotten out of school and been earning to buy a place around here.

Rent. Have a good time. See if you like the area. If you want to stay, save up and buy later.

I think your fanook Boss has Boston confused with Brooklyn.
