So if I buy an LCD from Dell and don't like it...

I can return it? Because of ghosting that is. I'm kind of scared to jump in and buy one without seeing it in action but we've got nothing nearby store wise.

I'm looking at the Planar PL191M

Personally I'd check out the Hitachi 17" with the 16ms response time before any other LCD right now.. but that's just me..

You should go to a store and see the Planar. They are not exclusive to Dell.

I would strongly recommend this.

Personally I chose the Dell 1900FP after reading some not-so-favorable things about the Planar in some Hot Deals threads.

Since no one seems to be able to answer the question you actually asked, your best bet would be to call Dell tomorrow and get a customer service rep to clarify their policy. I believe that you can indeed return monitors for any reason, including ambiuguous dissatisfaction.

Good suggestion although one would assume this is only common sense?

Anyhow here's Dell's contact info, 1-800-915-3355, their 30 day return policy probably applies to monitors also but it doesn't hurt to double check.

Remember to write down the person's name, badge ID, extension and date/time when you speak with someone. Also mention that it's an LCD since they are sometimes treated differently than CRT's are.
