Was flipping through the channels and it landed on a soft rock station... I hear "OK, time for some trivia!" I hit seek to stop it-- question: "What do the words stewardesses and reverberated have in common?" I call 'em up: "Both are typed exclusively with your left hand." Ended up winning a $25 gift certificate to Bob Evans and 4 movie passes to go see Charlotte's Web.

Brightened up my day a little, but then my boss ended up standing me up at a client's location about an hour and a half away (in rush hour).

Anyone else ever win anything on the radio?

Well I'm left-handed, so it'd be with my right hand if I were doing searches. ;)

But nah, I just remember hearing that stewardesses was the longest word typed with the left hand, and I figured reverberated was just another one.

I have won stuff from sports radio. Tickets to the Women's Final Four (sold to 4 lesbians), tickets to NHRA races (never picked these up), a "prize pack" that conisisted of random junk with the station logo on it, $25 GC to a local restaurant, tickets to a Georgia Tech basketball game, tickets to a Pistons/Hawks game a couple of years ago..

Now that I think about it, I have won quite a bit. :D

I won a contest when I was 16. Answered a trivia question - the original flavor of Pez (Peppermint - thanks Uncle John's Bathroom reader). Won a free oil change. Didn't collect my prize, because I didn't have a car (and I was only 16 and I don't think I was eligible to win anyway)

i very rarely win anything.

i think the best thing i won was aftershow tickets to meet Joe Satriani (through his website). Unfortunately my friend and I didn't understand that aftershow meant after Joe's set, not after the whole show. We got to meet Dream Theater (except for John Myung, i think they said he wasn't feeling well) and I got my Images and Words cd signed by all the guys (except Myung).
It kinda sucked because you really didn't get to talk to them or anything.. you just got in a line and walked by them, shook their hands and had them sign. kind of disappointing, especially since i really wanted to meet Joe more than DT.

everything else was stupid little crap.

When I was 8 or so I won a free coffee and piece of coffee cake at the local Country Kitchen by guessing the source of a movie quote.

It was from Cocoon 2.
