How do LAN parties work? It's at some place with other people's computers. All I know is that Starcraft is planned, but do these places usually have popular games installed on all computers? Further, how much do they cost per hour?

It totally depends on how the event is structured. It could be anything from bring your own computer/software to provided computers loaded with every game in existence. It could be a flat fee for the event or by the hour.

I don't really know. All I know is that there's a business that rents out usage of computers and that we (I don't know how many "we" is) will be playing LAN games on them. I have a bad feeling that I'll show up and I'll be the only one that doesn't own Starcraft II or something and fuck everything up.

If you're renting out computers, they'll probably already have software on them. You just pay by the hour.
