Maybe I shouldn't have, can't even plays games or do productivity. Found out later that t410s wasn't supported by win 10. I even clean installed so now I can't even downgrade back to win 7. Why did they give me that option to upgrade?! So I just bought a win 8 product key. heard it was was supported by 8. They will send me a key within 24 hours

aahhh there's a recovery option after upgrading to 10 to revert back to 7 exactly how it was left, should've done that.

My sony laptop failed when it tried that :p. Until Sony came out with official drivers for mine Windows 10 was horrible on my Vaio Flip 13A.

W10 is not "supported" on the T420 either, but it works perfectly fine on mine, hotkeys and all.

As for playing games, if you got a machine with integrated graphics, good luck. You're trying to do stuff with a 6+ year old machine.

I'm kind of confused though - what's your complaint with Windows 10? Does it not boot? Are certain things not working?

yeah, graphics don't function due to non existent driver for windows 10. acquired a win 8 key, now I'm flying. T410s comes with a NVidia as well as the integrated graphics card, two cards

Win10 works perfectly on my old T510. It has Nvidia graphics. As I recall, the 510 and 410 come from the same vintage. I did not do a clean install of 10, but rather upgraded 7.

You could try using an official Windows 8 driver in Windows 10.

I also did not do a clean install when going from 7 to 10 on my T420i - I just did the upgrade. This machine is too old (>5 years) and hence not worth my time to try to do a clean install on it.
