I guess the Apple store BS people, but yes they do not get viruses as easily as PC's. Spam yes, pyware, not as likely.

I work at Best Buy.. but in the Geek Squad. The sales floor people really BS customers so much it is not even funny. I feel sorry for them, though, such is retail I guess. At least I'm not the one doing the BS'ing.

This Thread is rather funny. Thanks you made my night. haha

They get just as much SPAM as anyone else. However, they don't get nearly as much spyware, or as many viruses, simply because no one cares😉

It's like making a viral strand for bull nuts....

how many people actually chomp down on such crap?

What do I think ..... wait for Macs to get 50%+ of the market and reside as the server OS of choice .... then see how many hackers try hacking Macs.....

That will never happen. No one will create viruses for Macs because no one actually uses a Mac.

a little over a year

I used to hate Mac too...even would insult those who liked it...then I gave it a chance and never turned back.

Just try and make me eat Chili without Mac again, I dare ya 😛

All jokes aside I did used to insult mac for being inferior but I'm very interested ever since they have started using pc hardware (read Intel processors) and the advent of Boot Camp has me now selling my laptop and seriously in a conflict between getting a Mac Mini or Macbook.

How do two Opteron 848 2.2GHz beat Intel? A single Woodcrest Xeon @ 3GHz would DOMINATE 2x 848's in every conceivable configuration and cost LESS (~$1k for Woodcrest, $1.2k for 2x 848's).

He said "Macs dont get viruses, and spam, macs might get 20 viruses out of 10000. And those are not the bad ones." so what do all you think on this?

The correct answer would have been: "After five years, there is still not one piece self-replicating piece of malware for OS X in the wild, because of the Mac's relative rarity and better vanilla setting. You will recieve the same amount of Mail spam but you will not be bugged with Adware because there is very few so far, and Apple isn't so @#! stupid to activate a feature like net send by default."

Edit: I first wrote a sensible Quick Reply to this thread without reading any further past the OP.

Having read the whole hilarious shitza, I have now deleted my sane, logical answer, just to go on record to say that the OP is a tool, a douchebag and shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a computer.

Troll on, baby!

And this is whay people get banned!!

I'm not so convinced that OSX is inherently more secure than Windows. Certainly it appears that way right now, but what if OSX dominated the computer world and 50,000 script kiddies, hackers, and idiots were systematically attempting to discover exploits? I personally think they would find just as many as are found in windows today.
