So i went to the APPLE store. :(

Well i was asking him all sorts of stuff like why apple is better than PC. And whay is their such a price difference. And gaming, and the list go on. But one thing stuck out. He said "Macs dont get viruses, and spam, macs might get 20 viruses out of 10000. And those are not the bad ones." so what do all you think on this?

Well yea, but they just had a commerical on , and it said. "Macs dont get viruses" And the reason they MAY not get as much is because what hacker wants to create a virus on a damn $4k machine. When you an do the same ****** on PC for a 1/3 of the price. Or because MAc sucks. You tell me?

Tyler, from your nick I can guess you're graduating high school in '08. Which means you're like 15-16. Saying "Mac sucks" does not make you cool no matter how much you think it might.

Um, no. Price has nothing to do with it. Viruses on OSX aren't common because OSX is by design more secure than the currently available version of Windows and OSX doesn't have as much market share as Windows. Why create a botnet that can only infect <%10 of the market when you can create a botnet that can infect >%90 of the market.

Dosent that sort of discredit him though......this is terminology someone in his position should know. Besides...everyone agrees that macs have less viruses and 90 percent of people agree as to why that is, but we can all go on saying them same thing for a few more pages

No, the reason is because umpteen-billion more people use PCs. If everyone had macs, then macs would get all the viruses and PCs would only have a few.

I love the new apple commercial that compares the home movies on Mac and PC. The Mac movie is a pretty woman and the PC movie is a dude in a woman disguise. I fins it funny that AVID's best system doesn't run on Mac's and in reality the quality of a movie depends on the person who makes it not what you make it on.

Macs will obviously get as much spam as anything else, the security model(see unix) is a bit better making viruses less damaging but what are these not bad viruses he speaks of? Good viruses?
