Heh. It was my intent to go in and grab the new H/K AVR-247 receiver and combine it with my 12% coupon. Linky to receiver

But instead I'm wandering around and find the scratch and dent appliance section. I just re-did my garage and have been half ass looking to get a fridge to put out there. Figured I'd look around. I ended up finding this fridge on the floor. It had a pretty decent dent in the front door. But...it came with a $750 Best Buy card. Essentially the thing was half off. It's a garage fridge...I could care less about the dent. I don't have to feel bad when I put one in there myself now. :D

So...I ended up walking out with a $1500 fridge (+ free delivery and 18 months 0% financing) and a $750 gift card that I put around $450 of towards the receiver.

Holy impulse buy batman

It's a nice garage. Fully insulated (just finished that part of it) and heated in the winter with a wood stove. This fridge is one of the most efficient ones out there (about $40 a year). The savings in energy over a couple years would more than make up for a crappy one that cost $300.

so you still spent $1500 and got the $750 gift card?

no, you didnt get the receiver for free. ;) you should've offered $600-700 for the fridge, and plus $450 for the receiver for a total of ~1050ish, you overspent about $500. now you just have some best buy store credit that you have to use on overpriced stuff.

You should tell her the Fridge was for her, the dent on the door was an accident by the delivery men

Yeah, that's how I understand the OP.

OP, you paid the full price ($1500) for a dented refrigerator and received $750 worth of store credit. You then put the $1500 on credit. Is that correct?

Obviously a straight 50% off would have been more desireable but that's not how they work. There's a reason I worded it "free" with quotes.

Best Buy isn't an anal raping demon merchant for all items they sell. There are many things that they sell that are pretty "normal" priced items. The receiver for example. After the coupon it's cheaper than just about any other legitimate H/K vendor. I was going to buy the thing anyway. Same thing for an Xbox 360 that I'll probably grab in a bit.

I essentially got the fridge, the receiver, and about 75% of an Xbox 360 for the retail price of the fridge. Is it that hard to understand?

Two 8 pound shoulders are hitting the smoker tomorrow. Mmmmmmmmm.......

Plus I'm going to get into home brewing so there's a nice place to store the goods after they ferment.

I'd send you some of the apple wood I cut down and chopped up. But it will cost you a pretty penny for my precious.

I still have about 30 pounds of apple chunks out in the garage. I "burned" through 20 last summer/fall. I usually buy online for apple -

Website blows...but the prices are good and the vendor is great.

Nice AV receiver, refreshing to have a company rate their output stats with 5 channels driven vs 2 like most other manufacturers...I have had an HK for a few years and its been bullet proof.
