So i watched the movie and i guess its based on a series of books..can someone tell me what happens in the rest of the series...if it sounds good enough i might pick them up to read but id liek to get some opinions on them.

The movie ends with them killing Nero and taking the boat upriver...and then they show another guy in the river in a bubble waking up.
and those hooded things talking.

And info is appreciated..:) :p

It's been years since I read the series so I don't know haow far the movie really took you. The series is really pretty good if you enjoy sci-fi. I never finished the last book though -- to much time had passed and I got lost.

If you like sci-fi, try Piers Anthony's "Blue Adept" series, Jack Chalker's good & Steven R. Donaldson's great (IMHO).

Wish I could be of more help on Riverworld - It's just been to long (20 years).

Sorry . . . but I guess his fans are all waiting for him to give a proper conclusion to the series . . . his last book raised as many questions as it answered and left it wide open for another . . .

I very much enjoyed the books and could see it making an interesting movie or even series (so many historical characters to meet on the river...)

GOR?
whats it about..who is the author?
John Norman is the author.

What is it about? Well...it started out pretty strange and then slowly turned in Sci-Fi story of S&M. Very sexual in nature but still considered a classic series.
