lol, same thing happened to me when i saw the ads saying Kaine (D) wouldnt even execute Hitler.

Let's hope he can win this one out, and at least bring a small victory to America and those who want their rights preserved.

I'm sure that's at least one of the reasons why Arnold REFUSED to meet with Bush a few weeks ago and REFUSED to endorse him at a fund raiser. :)

The very fact that Kilgore(R) has a chance after such a fine job the previous Governor, a Democrat, did is pretty scary.

Virginia has a history of almost entirely Democrat governors in the 20th century. It wasn't until the Republicans became the party of black-fearing men after the civil rights movement that Republicans got any victories. The most recent Republican governor was George Allen in 1994-1998. Before that, you have to go back to a 3-term Republican reign from 1970-1982 with Godwin followed by Dalton. Before that, you have to go back to 1869 to find a Republican governor.

Wow, you did your civic duty and had the audacity to preach about it on an internet message board.

The ad which attacked Kaine for defending a murderer (as the public defender) did it for me. Although I have to admit the Democratic Party did send a flyer basically equating Bush to Hitler and portraying the GOP as racists wishing to exterminate Katrina victims, which made it a little bit more of a tentative decision than it needed to be to pull the lever for Kaine. If the (D) side hadn't engaged in that gratuitous swipe it would have been a no-brainer for me.

I think people should not campaign on election day so I wasn't going to write anything in the P&N forum but I do want to say that Jim Gilmore was the last Republican Governor 1998-2002. He cut (car) taxes and left Virginia with a large deficit. Warner came in and raised taxes and balanced the budget. Hmmm. sounds familar. Virginia has a unique quirk that for quite a while now, the party out of the presidency wins the governorship. Kaine has some momentum (all recent polls show him ahead), but Republicans typically have a better GOTV ground game. I suspect Kaine will squeak it out by 2-3% though I wouldn't be surprised if Kilgore makes a late comeback.
