And the computer suddenly rebooted and said something like "power allocation failure" from the bios, so I call the IT guy, and he calls Dell and Dell says it's a *known problem with photoshop and my motherboard*

So I'm getting a new motherboard. The IT guy hosed my system in the meantime, now it won't even boot up :(

Really? I have never heard of a specific application causing a motherboard to reboot...

Exactly my thoughts on the matter. I think the tech saw that there was a different mobo revision out so he sent it overnight. Watch, I'll have to reformat, and then it'll work just peachy.

The closest I've ever got to something that wierd is this: My old computer's motherboard (a tyran something) was somehow incompatible with the type of movies interplay used in their video games at the time, causing reboots and freezes. I thought that was kind of wierd, so I checked with my computer's tech support, who confirmed it was a problem, and they even recommended a bunch of bios options I could change...bios options I didn't have. I found plenty of complaints from other tyran mb owners, so I guess thats really what the problem was.
