Usually you can create clubs for this sort of thing with just plain locks.. and practice on your OWN things, not someone elses.

K. The AZ laws seem to depend on intent to use, so I supose it's probably ok. Just wondering if there was a way to be sure without hiring a lawyer.

Probably by asking someone who would know that deals with the law, you shouldn't have to hire a lawyer, there are people all the time that make clubs.. I've been over to lockpicking101.com and it's actually quite a few people's hobby.

I have a set of lockpicks, they can be a challenge but I've managed to get a few locks open, I could see doing it as a hobby if I had more of an understanding of a few locks, descriptions and corny pictures don't do much for me because I'm more of the real life visual type of person.

Just go to a locksmith and ask them.

But they would have a licence, and hence wouldn't care....

Im sure that is information he would know anyways. And I highly doubt a locksmith will refruse your question if he didnt care.
