If I'm ever on when you're on I be sure to hook you up a bit.

I added you to my /f list but I think I entered you as a character name. Then I tried putting the * in front and it gave me an error. I think I had a space between * and your name though which probably caused the error.

My current character is a ladder char though. Are you on the ladder or all non-ladder??

I am getting SO hooked again :)

Yes, I'm all non-ladder. You don't need the *, the name you put after /f a is automatically an account name.

Well lemme post the "official" question then, anyone wanna start some new characters on USEast and play together? Obviously I won't be up to par for a while to play with you "established" types, so starting over will let us all game/level together.

you playing ladder or non-ladder?

I play ladder, and pretty much only duel these days, but always happy to help someone starting out.

Well, I'm staying on nonladder. I have 6 geared pvp'ers and an mfer that would simply take too long to rebuild on ladder.

Lucky you, I barely managed to accumulate 300FG within a two years period of actually using D2JSP regularly for trading purposes. But I actually registered back in 2003 I believe. Did you pay nJaguar for that FG? I know lots of people do that, because I can't see how anyone can go above 500FG by playing entirely legitimately... not that I am accusing you of anything... it's just an observation I made.

Hmm, pretty sure my account is long gone. I'd start again, but I'm playing Mythos already, a little less exciting, but more current.

"entirely" legitimately would be a stretch. I made most of the fg from selling torches this past season... back when ppl were paying good currency for em. In any given night, I'd run 4-5 torches and sell them unidentified. Was getting the keys from a bot running Nihaltak, and then trading surplus for the other two types of keys. When that got ultra boring, I settled on my pvp sin, and haven't really looked back at jsp in 6 months.

Then don't worry about rebuilding and instead worry about having some fun ^^

You spoiled the game that's why. Not to be rude, I mean I'm pleading guilty, I did use a bot during the good ol' 1.09 days (just trying to remember those White items... gives me shudders), that good ol' Pindle Bot of course, but I stopped using it as soon as I realized that I got rich within a week. That's perhaps exactly where I am different from many players who played the game, who basically played it to become "rich", just like in pretty much any RPG's, Diablo isn't that different from the others when you think about it.

The thing is I like a challenge and I like being frustrated... I guess. I was proud to get my first Torch back then when 1.10 was recently released. I worked my arse off to get it, it took me anywhere between three to five months before having enough loot to trade for a "crappy" one for my Barbarian. Let's not even talk about the Annihilus... that one took me a year before getting it, and no that's not exaggeration. But I don't play D2 everyday either... so the very large time spans between getting the good gear is in part explained by that, and also because as I mentioned I voluntarily avoid any hacks or bots, I don't even use Maphack. That way the game is some times challenging, some times frustrating, but when I find that Shako myself or that SoJ myself I'm more than proud.

That's how I see it anyway, you might well disagree. But I believe that you just spoiled the thing and that explains why you see little interests in playing it again.

Well, I started botting so I could have good enough gear to duel with my own builds instead of cookie cutter builds. Even though I no longer mf myself, the game still pretty fun a couple times a week. Anyways, I think after 4 years of killing meph myself, I might as well automate it :).
